I'm installing a set of Clarion SRR6923
6x9 co-axials...
... into the rear deck of my 1992 Camry LE
We'll need to remove the whole rear deck
tray in order to get at the stock speakers.
But first we need to remove the back seat (*i
know, all this work for the rear speakers?!*)
Pull the front of the lower seat up. There are
3 clips holding it in.
Then slide out the whole lower seat. It will
then reveal everything underneath (ie. loose
change, house keys, coke spills,
ex-girlfriends hair, etc.)
To remove the side bolsters you'll need to use
12mm socket to remove the lower bolt.
Then on the upper part of the bolster, pull
straight up to take it off.
Pull back on the little plastic panel. It's
held in only by clips.
From the Haynes manual
Use a flat head screwdriver to pop off the
plastic screw cover to reveal...
...the screw underneath. You'll have to remove
one on each side.
Before we remove the tray we need to remove
the center brake light. It's kinda tricky but
you need to pull up and back. It's only held
in by clips but it's a biatch to get off.
This is what it looks like underneath. Unscrew
the two larger screws to remove the unit.
You need to unplug the brake light wire from
the unit to remove it completely.
