From the beginning I knew that I wanted an
amp rack within a false floor.
So I made this simple rack that held my 2
Clarion amplifiers.
At this point I wasn't too sure on exactly
where I was going to route my wires so I keep
my options open.
This is the false floor with a window for the
amps cut out.
The heatsink link between the 2 amps gives it
a long sleek look.
With the floor on top. For this project I
should've used at least 1/4 inch MDF but to
save money and to keep it light in weight I
went with 3-ply plywood and 1x3's.
My bandpass box with two 10" MTX subs
that I got free from a friend. I had to repair
them and then spray paint them with blue paint
(*ghetto!*).
As is, the sub box is lower than the false
floor.
So I made a false floor for the sub box. This
is a look at the bottom side of it.
Now the subs sit on top of that floor.
The amp rack needed to have an opening on the
front side in order for the wires to get
through.
Time to run the wires to the trunk area.
The front floor had plenty of room underneath
to run the wires to the amp.
This was done during a Canadian spring day so
it was pretty chilly outside still. Here is
the "Heat Demon" that you can hook
up to your propane tank to heat up the garage.
I bought a sheet of 1/4 inch Lucite plexiglass
from Home Depot. I'd suggest a thicker sheet
but this stuff can get expensive.
